Dear friends around the world, here is Sri Lanka!

We are pleased to introduce our country on World Children's Radio. We have made a great project that connects Asia and Europe, here in our capital city Colombo. A huge Hans-Christian-Andersen festival for the UNESCO International Children's Books Day.

This festival will be celebrated around the whole world on the 2nd of April, Andersen's birthday.

Andersen, Andersen? Yes, that's who we mean:

"The Ugly Duckling" and  "Tom Thumb" were written by this Danish author along with "The Princess and the Pea" which you can see here in a fairy-tale park in Andersen's home town in Denmark.

In Denmark there is a real Queen! And she supports our book festival here in Sri Lanka.

Along with that, thousands of kids from all over Sri Lanka will come to Colombo to read his books and learn more about his life. The whole place will be on it's feet and there will even be white horses will be there to greet the children.

.All the children from around the world are invited to come to Colombo:

And here it is: Radijojo is in Colombo too.
Child reporters from the Hans-Christian-School in Berlin have made a program about their school's name-sake and  you can listen to it here. (in German at the moment, the English translation will follow soon)

We have now received this program from Radijojo and formed an Andersen-Radio bridge between Asia to Europe and back.

Till soon!

Many thanks to Dhammadesha Ambalampitiya who not only helped to organise the book festival in Colombo, but also had the idea for the radio-bridge between Sri Lanka, Germany and Denmark.
